The 2017 Internship Application is now closed.
Students at SUNY Potsdam are eligible to apply for one of four internship positions. Student Interns function in a variety of ways including ushering, driving, stage managing, catering, communications, video recording, administrative, clean up and anything that helps to facilitate the smooth running of the Seminar. Interns get to attend most of the masterclasses conducted by Stephanie Blythe and Alan Smith, participate in special evening events, and spend quality time with the Fellows, Ms. Blythe and Dr. Smith. In addition, some interns will be able to sing on the Friday evening lecture recital. (Willingness to perform is not required of all interns.)
Any Crane/SUNY Potsdam student is welcome to apply for an internship, but given the focus of the seminar, priority will be given to voice and piano majors. Room and board is provided to interns during the week of the Seminar, plus a stipend of $100.00 for the week. Interns are responsible for their own transportation to and from Potsdam. Interns must be available from Sunday, May 21 – Monday, May 29, 2017.
The ideal intern should exhibit the following qualities:
- Comfort initiating conversation with others, especially people with whom they are not familiar. Interns live on the same floor as the Fellows and are integral to helping them feel comfortable and cared for during the week.
- Professionalism, punctuality, independence, attention to detail.
- The ability to work as part of at team.
- Curiosity to learn.
